On Chills of the Mourning Mist

I walk these roads of mine

Not caring where humanity has gone

There’s no one here except you and I

As far as importance goes

We give our tears to the earth

Then skip away as lovers do

Not noticing as satin roses

Grew and grew

Death called your name

Through that blackening dream last night

And carried you away

On chills of the mourning mist

It left me behind

To wander these roads of mine

Giving rise to my pondering

Of an age old question

Of how a love like ours

Ever existed
