Jill wasn’t sure if she was dead or alive. All she knew was that if this was the afterlife, then it wasn’t half bad. Patting herself down, Jill confirmed that she was still in one piece. Pinching her arm, she stifled a scream. “Okay”, Jill murmured to herself, “So now I know that it is not a dream and I’m fairly certain that I’m not dead- given that my body just felt pain. So, the only logical conclusion is that I’m on the other side of the machine. So, Jack actually did it. Jack actually managed to send me to the digital world. He has more balls than I thought. “Though”, Jill added as she picked up a random stone, studied it, and then threw it back on the ground, “I’m still going to have to kick his ass for sending me here, so soon.”
Jill was so engrossed in what she was doing, that she failed to notice a small eight-year-old girl come up behind her, until she was only three feet away. “Hi, my name is Moxie, what is yours?
Jill’s back stiffened in surprise and she spun around to face the voice behind her. What she saw, took her completely by surprise. There was an eight- eleven-year-old girl standing and starring at her. The little girl cleared her throat and repeated her question, “Hi, my name is Moxie, what is your name?”
“My name is Jill. Where am I exactly?”
“You’re in my world. Do you want to play with me?”
