Journal Entry 226

5/27/2021

Well we made it. Tomorrow is payday. That magical day, that comes once every two weeks. A day of great rejoicing…or a day, where the headaches hit you over and over again. The cause? Why its trying to manage the money that you have earned with blood and sweat, wisely. You know that there are many things that you need to get or will need to get, as wells ad bills that need to be paid. But no, you tell yourself. Today will be a good day. You will do your shopping and hour or two before work, so that you can go straight home from work… that is at least the idea- but be honest with yourself. How often does that actually happen? Not very often, you tell yourself. But perhaps today will be different. Perhaps you will do everything the way its meant to be done- in its most logical order. Perhaps, but where would the fun in this be?

Why be logical, when you can be illogical – while still being logical.

Now, Now, don’t throw me away so quickly. The most one can do with what they’re provided, is to use it in the best way they know how. It is to be used to benefit others, without the purpose or intentions of getting back what you put out.

Then there are investments. Now this is where it starts getting tricky.  There are many investments that you get involved in every day. There are the finical investments, but this is not the subject of conversation right. What is the subject of conversation though, is the merchandise that is purchased on a biweekly basis, that serves a function. There are many things that may be wanted, a few that may be needed in the near future and the one or two that are needed within a day or two span. Naturally, you’d go for the ones that are needed right away, and plan for the ones that are needed in the future. The wants – are placed third in line and are rarely ever touched upon, because honestly, do you really need those wants? No. And so you go with what is needed- for this is what it means being responsible sucks. It is not fun at all. But it is necessary to survive and possibly get ahead in this life, in order to benefit those who come behind you.

But this is all you can do. Hope for the best, work for the future, but live in the present.

Sincerely,

Richard Polk
