Jill was deep in conversation with Moxie, when the rock came soaring through the window. Scattering shards of glass in all directions across the bedroom floor. “What the…” Jilled yelled, jumping up in surprise.
Moxie looked at the shattered glass, lying on the bedroom floor. “It looks like your friends have found you. Though, I’m rather surprised that he didn’t simply knock on the door, since he had figured out which house it was.”
“Friends? He?” Jill asked. “Wait, I have friends looking for me and they’re both males?”
“Yes,” Moxie replied. “They have been looking for some time. I honestly thought it was going to take them much longer. But it seems that the skinny one, with disheveled hair is quite clever.”
“And the other one?”
“The other one,” Moxie replied, “Is hanging back a bit. He’s hard to read. He is trying to act scared and intimidated, but I can tell from the face and how he holds himself, that he is in complete control of himself and the situation on hand.”
“Hmm… interesting.” Jill replied. “You don’t happen to know how they managed to determine the right house?”
“By simply throwing a rock through the window.” Moxie replied…
“Well, I know that – but…”
Moxie held up her finger, to silence Jill. “I wasn’t done yet. When your disheveled friend, threw the rock through the window, he was watching to see which house would show the damage.”
“So, the real house would show the damage and the other ones wouldn’t”
“Not quite,” Moxie replied. “First off, all these houses are real, secondly they will all show damage. It’s just that the original one will show damage first, before the programing resets to include the damage already done. Quite clever actually. Though I wish they would’ve have knocked on the door. The result would’ve been same.”
“What done is done.” Jill replied. “Let’s go down and see what the boys want.
