Jill lifted herself out of the chair and ran down the stairs as fast as she could. How the General could have found her so quickly, was beyond her. Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Jill flung it open to find Moxie already in deep discussion with a disheveled man. Stepping to the side of her, Jill stared in disbelief. Standing in front of her was the last person she expected to see, Jack.
Smiling and waving. Jack quickly stopped when Moxie shot him a dirty look.
“This gentleman here, claims that he is here to rescues you?” Moxie said to Jill, not taking her eyes off of Jack. “Frankly, he seems kind of squirrely to me.”
“That wouldn’t exactly be the word, I’d use.” Jill replied. “But yes, this psycho is probably here to rescue me, though I highly doubt it was his idea.”
“Hey, that hurts you know,” Jack replied. “It was my idea to come and rescue you.”
“Sure, it was” Jill replied. “Who’s your friend?”
“Oh him?” Jack replied, pointing to Turner, who was standing a few feet back. “Just someone who I picked up along the way.”
Noticing, Jill staring at him, Turner stepped forward, “Hi, I’m the hostage/ new found friend.”
“Okay,” Jill replied, giving him an odd look. “Good to meet you, I guess.”
Turning her attention back to Jack, Jill said, “So I hear that you are here to rescue me?”
“Yes, we are.” Jack replied. “I need you to come back with me and explain to the General that everything that happened was a mistake, so that I can get a full pardon and an apology for being treated so badly.”
