This is a free write and as a free write – it has certain rights. What are these rights, you might ask? It has the right to exist – no matter how badly constructed it might be. With this right of existence, it also has the right to remain as it is or to a complete body work done at our twenty-four-hour editorial massage parlor. One of the other rights a free write has – is the right to be in the loving care of a writer. Now. there have been a few instances where the writer has attempted to burn, smother, delete and maim the free write trusted in its loving care….

“Mr. Dinker, please get to the point so that I can get this uncivilized woman out of here and into editing where she belongs.”

“Oh, please no, your Honor. I swear that it was only a slip of the tongue. I overcame such prejudices when I was a little girl and witnessed a free write be torn in half by a frustrated writer. From that day on, I dedicated my life to protecting….”

“Your honor, do we really have time for another life story?”

“No, we don’t prosecutor. Please proceed with your questioning.”

” Thank you, your honor. I promise I’ll get straight to the point.”

“Now Ma’am, you claim to treat all pieces of writing the same and yet my client, Mr. Free Write has a much smaller living quarters than his counterparts the Novel and Screen Write…”

“Don’t forget Poetry.”

“Poetry Ma’am, Don’t get me started on Poetry…”

“Counselor to the point.”

“Yes, sorry your honor. As I was saying if you claimed to treat all the writing under your care equally, then shouldn’t they all get the same rights? Before you answer, let me add…the same living space in your vast hotel computer?”

“Yes, I suppose your right.”

“Right of course I am right Ma’am.”

Here the counselor turns towards the judge, “Your honor, it appears that this woman has seen the error in her ways. I believe that from now on, she will treat my client with the same respect as she does his fellow manuscripts. I feel that if she makes on her promise of giving my client Mr. Free Write the same living space as the Novel and Screen Write- than i feel that her punishment should be kept to the minimal six months of editorial prison.”

“I agree counselor…. I hereby rule that the defense makes good on her word of giving Mr. Free Write, the same living space as his counterparts, then she’ll only have to spend six months in Northside Editorial Penitentiary.
