To start writing, one must simply put words on the page. Even if at first, they don’t make sense. Just to put them down, is giving them life and with this life, they have power. In this particular moment, I find it hard to put what needs to be said into words. I know that it has to do with rocking chairs and family- the importance of family. How to value them, while they are still here- all that important junk that parents try to grind into their kids while they’re young. Is this a reflection piece? Well, I suppose it is, this story after all took place a couple of years ago, when I was around ten years old. It was around Christmas time, in fact the year after my Grandmother had gone missing… Now I know what you’re thinking and your wrong. My grandmother didn’t get run over by a reindeer. For the simple fact that there were no tracks, no blood. Nothing. She just vanished. The weird thing is my grandfather disappeared a year before that on the same exact day. But it looks like I’m getting ahead of myself. Perhaps it would be best if I rewound and started at the beginning.
Sincerely,
Alex Jingle.
