I pause – in remembrance
Of one who use to be a child
Yes, a child
so sweet, So pure,
that even their faults
were of angelic disposition
I pause – in remembrance
Of this light-hearted soul
Who had not a care in the world
But lived each day, as a new adventure
I pause- and ponder
What happened to these children
What made them cold and bitter
What made them bury their innocence
And pretend to be mature- until they were
And then
And then
You tell me
What happened to us
