So, this is an entry about nothing important. Perhaps by the time I am done it will be something in important. At least, it might help improve my typing skills that are horrible to begin with.

But what to write about, honestly, I have no idea. I could always work on the novel. Afterall. It seems that I get stalled every other day…mostly from falling asleep at night from a hard day’s work.  I could do a weekly blog- which does need to get done and I have not done one in a couple of weeks.

I could writ about nothing- which I am currently doing. This entails more or less screwing around with words in an attempt to spawns some crazy ideas. This is more of a free write than anything.

But then, is anything free? Is it free to write? Yes and no. First, it should be a free flowing of thoughts and random ideas…though that is not how the human mind works. The human mind likes patterns and in fact everything is a pattern, once you connect the dots right.

Yes, connecting the dots and crossing the T’s that is what writing means to me…. okay, I even admit that last sentence was awful and I promise not to do it again… until the next rhyming section emerges.

I honestly do not know what to think about AI writing books. I am okay with it I guess…however, if I find that that my writing was copied to produces someone else’s book…that would really tick me off. Mostly in part because my writing, my novels can take years to produce. To have a project that I have worked on for a couple of years (this includes editing) to be ripped off for someone who doesn’t feel like putting in the commitment – that would really piss me off. This is one of the reasons why I guard my bigger pieces until they are ready to be put out there.

Also, I assume that all my ideas for the novel are random…. yes, I know that I said things always have a pattern and in the general purpose and idea my novels do follow a storyline. However, I may or may not know how my novel will end. Most of the time I do know the ending or at least have a rough idea how it will end. However, I really do not know the exact steps that are required to get there. Surprises and left and right curves (yes, I know another poor way of describing this) litter the page and jump out at me, as I’m writing them.

Now, I fully expect tomorrow, to come and edit this piece and though I feel that I remove some of the grammar mistakes…I feel that the some of the horrible written examples are in the the spirit of this piece and thus will stay…. If only to throw those stupid AI off track.

Sincerely,

Richard Polk
