Here, Dr. Rotter paused and looked out over the audience. “That was the last entry that Princess Ribbet made. The rest of our story is picked gathered from notes and official documents left behind…
Patient number xxx, also known as princess Ribbet is due to give birth today. We have relocated her and the all the necessary equipment to Altros, a barren planet that has a vast underground of rivers and oceans. The process of Terraforming a planet has always been known to us, but the practicality and cost has always been a bit steep for the Cole foundation. But once a client came forward and requested this process to be done, we were given the go ahead from the up above’s. As one would expect, there was always room for trial and error and though the simulations were near perfect the last two attempts never go past the first phase. The first two patients didn’t survive the inception process and after careful analysis we had a working theory of what might have gone wrong. To prove it though, we had to convince the client that vitro fertilization was a course of action worth pursuing when the traditional means failed. This, as you can see was the right choice for this time the patient lived. As to why this patient lived while others didn’t has been a constant debate between my colleagues and I. But this is neither the time or place to get into politics or the morals of right and wrong.
But. I am getting off point here., As I mentioned the first step passed and the nurses were under strict orders not to let anything happen to the patient. I do have to say, that they performed their jobs admirably, though I suppose the threat of death does provide proper incentive. I need to remember this tactic for the next time I am required to deal with lazy coworkers who are beneath me.
Now, as I mentioned the first phase passed and so tonight, we’re going to begin the second phase. The patient is already down on the plant and when the time comes, we will begin the terraforming process, while also inducing Princess Ribbets pregnancy. In this way, they will both happen at the same time, so that this experiment has the best chance of succeeding.
