So, a little bit of insight into this, when I first started working on this project, I didn’t realize how much was actually involved. It took me two-three weeks to assemble three sets needed for Christmas gifts. Normally, I would try to wait for Christmas before posting my Christmas blog, but given how hectic things have been, I felt that this would be the best time to do it. So, here it is. Richard’s Ikea

Congradualtions on being the proud owner of Richard’s Ikea side table. In this package you will find everything you need to assemble your furniture. Follow the instruction carefully and soon you will be enjoying your new table.

Inventory:

                   2- 2-foot topper boards                              1 craftsman tape measure

                   4- 37 ½ inch legs                                         1 Marker

                   1 box of screws                                             1 additional leg if needed (bonus item)

                   1 chocolate bar

Tools required for assembly:

                  1 box of screws (provided)                           1 tape measure (provided)

                  1 marker (provided)                                     circular saw (not provided)

                  Drill (not provided)

Steps:

  1. Cut the four legs to your desired length. A recommend height would be 19-20 inches. Save all of your scraps.
  2. Now take your scraps and cut those in half. Place them aside for the time being.
  3. Now take one of the toppers and a leg and secure them together. Do this for the rest of the three legs.
  4. Now that you have the four legs on the four corners of the topper board. Take four of the scrap pieces and buddy them up to each of the inside legs on the board. This provides extra support. Once this done, the table should be able to stand upright.
  5. Take the remaining four pieces of scrap and secure them to the inside of each of the four legs. Make sure that they are level with each other.
  6. Take the remaining topper and place it on the lower pieces, thus creating a second shelf.

I hope you have enjoyed putting together this side table and I look forward to hearing how it went. Naturally, if adjustments are needed, feel free to make them. I’m basing this model off of a larger model that I have in the back yard. I hope it works out for you. Now quickly get into the other room, before your wife eats the entire chocolate bar.
