Gregg was waiting for Jack to open his eyes. He had been staring at this man for better part of an hour, ever since the guards had carried Jack into Jill’s work station. The plan had worked better than Greg could’ve hoped for and it was largely in the part to the General agreeing to go along with it. Still the operation nearly failed a couple of times, mainly due to that women and her child asking to many questions. But even that was dealt with quietly in the end. Now was when the real challenge began. Gregg knew that he had to somehow convince Jack that he had taken the place of the woman and child and that somehow, they had made it up to Jills lab and then decided to take a nap before continuing.

Jack stirred.

With a frown, Gregg bent down and gently shook Jack’s shoulder. “Hey buddy, time to wake up.”

Groaning, Jacks eyes fluttered open and stared hard at Gregg. In a flash, Jack was on his feet, patting his pockets, while keeping his eyes on Gregg. “Where is it? Where could’ve that blasted thing go?”

“Are you looking for this?” Gregg asked, holding Jacks pistol out to him.

“Uh, yeah thanks?” Jack said, taking his pistol from Gregg and then pointing it at him.

“Whoa, calm down there man,” Gregg said, putting his hands partially in the air. “We’re all friends here?”

“I don’t even know you; I don’t even know how I got up here.” Jack hissed, his voice starting to get louder. “And when I don’t know things, I start to get really paranoid.”

“Okay, why don’t you lower your gun and I’ll do my best to fill in the missing blanks.”

“Why don’t you start talking before I pug you full of holes.”

“Yeah, okay. We can do that as well. Why don’t you take a seat? This is going to take a while.”

“I’m fine where I’m at.” Jack hissed, “Now start talking.”
