Jill bent down and looked Moxie square in the eyes, “Where are your parents, little girl?”

“Parents?”

‘Yes, your parents.”

“My mum is at home, where she belongs.”

Jill grimaced. This was going to be harder than she thought. “Okay, Moxie. I need you to tell me who is in charge here.”

Moxie thought for a moment, “Honestly I don’t know. If I would have to say who is in charge it would likely be me.”

“You,” Jill laughed. “But you’re nothing but a little girl, now seriously, I need to talk to your mother. Please take me to her.”

“Moxie sighed. “Fine, I will take you to my mother, though I’m telling you that this is a waste of time.”

“Why do you think that?”

“Because my mother is always busy. She’s always kicking me out the door to go play with my friends.”

“Your friends?” Jill asked

“Yeah, Malware and Anti-byte. Though my mother doesn’t approve of me playing rough with them. She believes that little girls should do girly things like getting their nails done.”

“There’s nothing wrong with getting your nails painted.” Jill replied. “Look, I paint my nails red when I’m feeling especially fierce.”

“Good for you,” Moxie replied. “Doesn’t it get in the way of doing important things?”

“Sometimes.” Jill agreed. “Though, I’ll let you in on a little secret. If you add a drop of baby oil to each nail, they will dry faster and then you can get back to what is really important.”

“Hmm” If you say so,” Moxie replied. “What would be even quicker, would be if I didn’t get them done at all. Now do you still want to meet my mother?”

“Yes,” Jill replied.

“Okay, come with me.” Jill replied, walking over and taking Jills hand in her own.

Jill allowed herself to be pulled away from the portal and towards a house across the street with a white picket fence
