Jill laughed. “Jack of course it’s your fault. You were the one who shoved me into the portal, however, if you can get us out of here, then all is forgiven.”
“Well, um, I haven’t really much time to think about it, though I believe your friend here could be able to help us.”
“Come with me.” Moxie replied.
With a simple nod, Jack followed Moxie through her front door. Passing by Jill, he bumped into her lightly. “I really did miss you.”
“I know. Now go on.”
As the front door closed, Jill found herself alone with Turner. “So, what is your story?”
“What do you mean?”
“How did you get caught up with this psycho,” Jill asked, looking Turner over slowly with her eyes. “You seem to be quite capable of taking care of yourself, so either you’re secretly a
klutz or…. here Jill paused in thought. “Or, you are working for the General and Jack is not aware of it.”
Turner looked at Jill, but didn’t say anything.
“Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.” Jill replied. “You are lucky though that Jack didn’t find out. He would’ve shot you without a moment’s notice.”
“I’m perfectly capable of handling myself.” Turner replied. “Now I suggest, that we both remain silent, lest Jack comes back and suspects us both of betraying him.”
Jill sighed, and turned towards the town. “You this is really kind of pretty. I never really stopped to admire the beauty.”
“Yeah,” Turner replied. “To busy writing computer code, I suppose?”
“You know, that is the answer that I always give. Though if I was going to be honest, I wasn’t the one who actually wrote the computer code.”
“Oh?”
“You see, Jack and I had weekly sessions, where it was reported that we worked on his numerous mental issues. Instead, he was pumped full of a special drug and then allowed to ramble on for hours. He really is a bright man. It’s a shame that he has the problems that he does.”
“And still you guys exploited him until he snapped.”
“Everyone has a purpose,” Jill replied.”
“Oh, and what is my purpose?” Turner asked, turning to face Jill.
“To follow orders and then die,” Jill quipped, as she pulled out Jacks gun and shot Turner right between the eyes.
