Fishing a black box out of his pocket, Jack pushed a button in the middle and a bluish arc appeared in front of them. “Well, you wanted a way home,” Jack said, placing his hand lightly on Jill’s shoulder. “Here you go.”

“Are you sure that it will work?” Jill asked, brushing Jacks hand away.

“No, but what other option do you have?”

“True,” Jill replied.” Though I would feel safer if you went first.”

“Oh no you don’t.,” Jack replied. Giving Jill a little shove forward with the pistol. “We’re not going to go through this again.”

“Yeah, how are you going to stop me with an unloaded gun?”

“Who says, I need to have it loaded to control you,” Jack replied, showing Jill forward again with the pistol muzzle.

“Will you stop doing that,” Jill screamed, spinning around and shoving Jack away from her.”

“I’m just trying to provide a little motivation.”

“You’re a psycho.”

“Now, that wasn’t very nice.” Jack replied, as he slid the cartridge out of the chamber and slapped in a new one.”

The color drained from Jill’s face. “I thought you said you were out of bullets.”

“No, you said I was out of bullets,” Jack replied. “I just didn’t bother correcting you. Now move.”

With a sigh, Jill turned around and stepped into the portal. A few seconds later, Jack stepped in right behind her, leaving Moxie’s world behind him.
